"Sneaking Insect" - (SJ21.4)
SculptJanuary is an annual online event that aims to encourage Blender users to sculpt more by providing them with 31 topics to complete during the month of January. It is organized by CG Boost.
There are no prizes involved, but it can make you a better sculptor.
In 2021 I had a lot of time available and I completed all 31 topics, although... not just in January... it was tough, I had to work a bit more in February until I finished everything.
"Sneaking Insect" was the theme of SculptJanuary 2021 Day 4.
A sneaking creature is always hiding behind something...so I started by sculpting some big boulders.
Then I made a praying mantis, at least some parts of it... You shouldn't make what you don't see, right?
Especially with time constraints...
The mantis itself was mostly modeled and only minimally sculpted.
After all, there is very little meat on it. Just tubes and brackets...
I was looking for something more appropriate mood lighting... in this case moon lighting :-)
... and somewhat nicer surroundings...
... Day 4 was now also completed.
